Country-Americana Riser Scott Wolverton Drops Two Singles

After turning heads with his recent release “West on 34,” notable up-and-comer Scott Wolverton returned with new music last week, delivering a double-release, dropping two singles at once. Both “Stormchaser” and “I Wish I Had Someone I Could Write a Love Song To” displays the Midwest native’s signature Country-Americana sound and keeps the listener immersed throughout.
Written by Wolverton, Brian Elmquist and Mark Addison Chandler, “Stormchaser” commands attention right away, beginning with the sound of thunder and quickly moving into the first verse before unfolding into a memorable chorus.
“This song is about being there for someone in hard times because you love them so immensely, especially when that person is highly emotional,” Scott shares. “We blended this thought with the idea of chasing a storm or a tornado. They’re known for being untamable and causing destruction and chaos, yet people still voluntarily go after them because they love it. Vice versa, you chase after the ones who mean the most to you because of the overwhelming love you have for them.”
Offering a contrasting perspective, “I Wish I Had Someone I Could Write a Love Song To,” penned by Wolverton, Elmquist and Dennis Cook, shifts into a different tone. Still, Wolverton isn’t writing just for the sake of it – he remains rooted in his honest approach to songwriting, with lyrics that come from a place of genuine feeling. “At the time of writing this song, I didn’t have any one in my life, but the people I was writing with that day wanted to write a love song. I openly said ‘I don’t have someone to write a love song to’ and so we wrote a song about yearning for that person, along with how I was shaped by that season of my life.”
Together, the two tracks highlight his strength as both a songwriter and artist, offering a clear sense of his artistic identity.
Wolverton also recently announced his first-ever headline tour beginning June 18 in Chicago, IL and making stops in Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio.
Firm in his own lane, he stays grounded and reflective, gaining inspiration from lived experience while building a loyal fanbase one listener at a time. Having already opened for artists like ERNEST and Riley Green and set to perform at a variety of festivals this year, Scott Wolverton has proved himself as one to watch.
